The image is going to look softer, that's for certain, but the artifacts and motion blur from TAA aren't going to be sharpened themselves to be more pronounced, and you're not going to have that jarring halo effect.

If you're going to use a combination of upscaling and TAA to make remastered mode less taxing, I would highly recommend disabling all forms of image sharpening to do so. There's even a reason that I include in my optimization guide a method of removing the sharpening filter that's ever-present in this game through the game's config files. You can see massive amounts of shimmering (whiter looking pixels) on object edges, as well as the standard TAA issues magnified like the motion blur trail following my character or the obvious loss of detail in anything that's in motion such as the grass swaying in the breeze becomes a snot soup. I do mention turning on upscaling in my performance guide if you need extra performance, however I need to make it perfectly clear that this does not look even close to normal. This is a raw screenshot of what it looks like to play on Remastered with TAA, Upscale turned on, and Nvidia's image sharpening in the driver set to 1.0 with ignore film grain also set to 1.0. I really can not recommend anyone to play their game looking like this: My overall gain was form 70-100 FPS to 100-150. The other thing I've noticed is that TAA with turned off SSAO eleminates pop ins. Becuase to be honest I can't stand anti-aliasing or rather lack of it on Low to Very High game options.

This feature will be great for people who want to keep Remastered Mod on with TAA while doing some more intensive content without loosing on performance. I'm sorry if this was known before but I did read two Optimization guides that were posted here on reddit and I don't remember people talking about this ''trick'' only about Upscaling as they usually talk only about gaining FPS and not making the game also look good. The look and performance of your game may not be as mine, it depends on your GPU and monitor panel. And the game option I used were ''Remastered'' + ''TAA'', from my own little experiment for some unkown reason to me game works better on ''Remastered'' when upscaled than ''Very High''. Also I've tested it on laptop with 9th gen Intel i5 and RTX 2060 so the ''Image Sharpening'' option may not be available for every Nvidia card. You can also use Nvidia Filters which you can access by pressing CTRL+= -> Filters and there looking for ''Image Sharpening'' which is basically the same thing but I've noticed a little FPS difference (or I am trippin') also there is an ''Image Sharpening+'' filter that can enchance your game even more but with this one I've noticed only 20-30 FPS gain and also it's hard to set up nice looking game. Both values of ''Image Sharpening'' have to be set to ''1'' on Nvidia control panel. You can use ''Upscale'' option to gain 30-50 FPS and use ''Image Sharpening'' on Nvidia Control Panel/Game Filters to make the game look *almost* normal - without loosing on FPS so basicially you gain FPS for free.
